Pixie Elf's rebellious streak has garnered Santa's attention. Oh it could have gone very bad - designing teddy bears with Mohawks, altering the length of her standard issue dress, high heels... yep she could be in very real trouble. However, Santa's known for gifting wishes whenever possible and Pixie's confession to desiring tickets to a Glow concert gains his attention. You see, she met someone at a concert she attended in Montreal and she's really hoping to rekindle the spark they started.
Santa's not exactly comfortable dealing with Pixie's wish but Ms. Claus is more than willing to be helpful. In fact, she even looks up Pixie's crush, Nitro, on the computer only to discover that despite his being on the naughty list for twenty-nine years, he's finally made the good list - this is a disappointment to Pixie who had imagined all sorts of naughty activities they can indulge in together. The disappointment only lasts until Ms. Santa clues her into the fact that his behavior means that Pixie can accompany Santa and deliver her gift to him personally.
There's one little catch to Pixie's holiday plans for romance, she only has one night to get Nitro to fall in love with her. Fortunately for her Nitro's been enamored of Pixie since they first met - looks like they might both get their Christmas wish this year.
CHRISTMAS GLOW by Megan Slayer is a fun touch of whimsy complete with a romance that positively brings a smile to the reader's face. From the moment I read about Pixie's punk teddy bears sporting Mohawks I fell in love with her quirkiness and really adored her bravado even though it's obvious she isn't at all sure that Nitro feels the same way about her - and their future is uncertain at best. I absolutely love how Ms. Slayer pulls this whole story together and delivers a satisfying ending that leaves a warm `glow' in the reader's heart.
