About the Author
After a yearlong period of treatment and recovery from leukemia, Chris Ayers started a sketchbook called The Daily Zoo. His initial goal of drawing one animal per day for a year was achieved and then published in The Daily Zoo: Volume 1. The process was so rewarding and therapeutic that Chris kept right on drawing.

Incredibly fun and inspiring

[[VIDEOID:mo2J8PQK8MHVWH8]]Daily Zoo Year 2 continues where the first has left off. Chris Ayers provides us with yet another year of wonderful characters and reflects on his treatment from leukemia with interesting and inspiring stories.
The Daily Zoo is incredibly fun with its humorous and oftentimes whimsical illustrations. It is in many ways better than a real zoo. Where else can you see stuff like Bridezilla, Unicycling Uakari, Saggy Bunnies, a few dinosaurs, aliens or even a carnivorous Christmas tree? There is no lack of surprises from cover to cover.
Chris Ayers gives his animals so much character you'll feel you know them from somewhere. The drawings are beautiful and detailed, especially the textures on the animals. He also shares lots of tips on character design.
This book is filled with creativity and it's such an inspiring read. It also comes with a bookmark and postcard.
Very highly recommended. I hope there another year coming.

Another beautiful and wonderfully human book from Chris Ayers

Chris Ayers' cartoon characters are so alive with personality that you can almost see them moving on the page. I loved 'The Daily Zoo' and am overjoyed to see its sequel. More power to your elbow, Chris. You're an inspiration in so many ways and you make other cartoons look two-dimensional.

What an Inspiring Book!

I have given this book (and it's companion Volume 1) to many people who are dealing with cancer but especailly with leukemia, which is the form of cancer the author dealt with at a young age. People have reported that it brings comfort, courage, and inspiration in their own battles with cancer.
