About the Author

Colin Barrow is the author of more than 30 books in the fields of entrepreneurship, business management and international property development, and he has authored or co-authored ten books in the Dummies series. His books have been published by the BBC, The Economist, John Wiley and Kogan Page. Following a career in business where he held senior staff and line positions, including that of managing director of a substantial manufacturing enterprise with multi-plant and multi-country operations, he was Head of the Enterprise Group at Cranfield School of Management, a leading International Business School, for ten years. For the next 20 years he lectured, researched and collaborated with colleagues in business schools in the UK, US, Canada, Australia, Asia and throughout Europe. He is the author of The Business Plan Workbook and Cut Costs Not Corners (Kogan Page).

A concise yet comprehensive collection of information relevant to marketing that can be used in many situations is the best way to describe this book.

This book offers an accessible route into the world of marketing that lets you get core information at speed whilst providing many routes to acquiring deeper knowledge, making this ideal for both students and the more-experienced business professional who needs to brush up on a bit of knowledge (or acquire it for the first time if they have been bluffing).

In this updated edition, the author has added a host of new case studies, updated existing chapters and added new data on subjects such as marketing sciences, social media marketing and the march towards mobile marketing. Even if you have the original edition sitting on your shelf, this could be a worthy “upgrade” in any case. This book has the capacity of being one of those frequently consulted books that you keep close at hand, when you want to get a steer on a certain point and don’t fancy trusting the often random nature of Google to your possibly less-focussed search query.

Clearly this book is not going to be the one and only book you need to study marketing, yet neither does it even set out to be this. It provides a great accessible way into the world of marketing, helping you on your way. There will be a time and a place for the several hundred-page marketing textbook focussing on a highly focussed subject and there will also be space for a book like this. No doubt you can be picky and question elements of the book: did it cover a certain subject sufficiently, what did it miss out and so forth; yet all in all it provides a great mix, written in an understandable way that leads you to wanting to learn more, and it is offered at a great price.

About the Author
Shiloh Sophia lives life as a great adventure narrated by the creative fire of her Muse! She has been painting, writing poetry, publishing books and teaching at universities, the United Nations and in her own programs globally for over twenty years.
 
Her soul work is inspired by the idea that self expression, the freedom to express what each person thinks and feels in the world, is a basic human right. Her research and development around this idea has focused onserving women and girls through giving them access to methods of transformational art-making through stories, symbols and inquiry.
 
Shiloh is the Curator and founder of the Intentional Creativity Foundation and Cosmic Cowgirls, a woman and girl owned school that serves between 500 and 5000 women a month through revolutionary education, bothon-line and on-location. She has also founded a teacher training program, Colorof Woman, which certifies women to teach Intentional Creativity worldwide.Currently there are close to 200 teachers in the lineage. She has brought the technology of Intentional Creativity toacademic settings by teaching at universities in Global PhD and Masters programs.
 
Intentiona lCreativity, an intuitive painting process accessing internal imagery and story,has ancient origins. Shiloh'sl ineage of intentional creativity comes to us from New Deal artist Lenore Thomas Straus, who trained Shiloh's mentor, artist Sue Hoya Sellars. Sue and Shiloh's mother, poet Caron McCloud, worked together with Shiloh to bring the method tothe world.
 
Shiloh lives in the vineyard lined hills with her husband, Jonathan, whois also a poet and artist. Their Muses can be found most mornings having teaand discussing quantum physics, philosophy and sacred texts in the Red Thread Cafe.

A Gift for Your Creative Soul

What a gift for our creative souls and wild, longing hearts this book is! So many sparks of inspiration, deep inquiries, spiraling worlds of possibility. I find myself randomly opening a page as a sacred gateway into poetic possibilities for my soul and start writing, doodling, visioning inspired by each page. The writing is bold and loving, fun and profound, beautiful and deeply real. I have already dog-eared so many pages to return to again and again.

Really nothing here

The promise of theta healing is immense, but the vision of accessing our subconscious and unconscious minds seems to be missing from ThetaHealing's approach. The whole premise of re-discovering and re-connecting to who we truly are as expressions of the One Source is to integrate the wounded parts of our self (Ego). "Belief work" from this book actually strengthens the Ego with virtually every "download" starting with the phrase 'I know...'

The suggestion of supplements is completely generic and without any regard to an individual's possible need. And the writing style in describing diseases and disorders is overly simplistic and lacking any depth of someone who has been duly educated and properly trained.

Healing is not anywhere as complicated as listing science's labels (diseases and disorders) of what is essentially disintegrative energies run amok in our integrative energy systems (the human body). When we choose to align our hearts and our minds with that which we truly are (Love), healing happens - no matter what the issue is labeled as.

This book has lots of good information. Several diseases and disorders mostly focusing on the more common issues. Still a good reference for helping with certain problems. I just got it but I use it just about everyday, even if it's just to read over what I read the day before. Organized well easy to find what your looking for.

God Chasers...this book will break your heart!

If you're chasing after God and need another signpost along the way, this is it! If you're tired of "playing church" and longing for a glimpse of God's face, then read on. I, for one, long to know what I can do to bless Him... to bring joy to His heart... to minister to Him and give Him something back for all the incredible blessings He's poured out. Tommy Tenney's books have ruined me for "church as usual" and the "bless-me" mentality. He writes not as one who has attained, but one who is running as hard as he can after God. I can hear the Father saying, "Come closer..." How can I but respond?

The Best Book About Worship I've Ever Read

I've read a lot of good books about worship, but this one is without a doubt the best! "The only thing the Father actively seeks is worshipers" (p.118). "We try to attract man, thinking that's our job. When are we going to learn? The primary purpose of the Church is to attract Him! The bottom line is simply this: we need more of God and less of man" (p.131). How I've longed for a Church that seeks to attract God instead of man! Somehow we've lost the intenseness and intimacy with which King David worshipped, and we've reduced worship to a few songs from a hymnal, or three fast songs followed by three slow songs from an overhead projector. This book has everything we need to get us back on the right track!

Intimacy in Openness?

Have you ever felt out of place in your own home? Have you ever invited guests to your house and had them dominate so completely that you felt like the visitor?
Tommy clearly makes his point about God's desire to inhabit a temple without curtains of any kind that is filled 24x7x365 with worshippers that have turned their backs on the outer courts and focused their attention on the presence of the Almighty upon the requisite Seat of Mercy.
Revelations 3:20, written to the church at Laodicea, indicates that Jesus is outside the church, knocking at the door, desiring to come in and feed and be fed through "Eden-like" fellowship. 1) Why is He on the outside knocking - because those on the inside have locked him out 2)Do our Doors and Windows affect the move of God? - Of course. He has no access to us without our permission 3)Have we learned, through programs and pageantry, to have church without God? - Laodicea had determined that they were increased with goods and had need of nothing. They had much Goods and NO GOD 4)Jesus expression of knocking on the door of the church is simply an echo of his constant desire for man. Jesus is simply seeking a dwelling place, a house of habitation, where he can share intimacy with His Bride in an atmosphere of openness -- No walls, no doors, no shutters and no windows -- An environment where a world void of intimacy can witness the acts of love and desire the same for themselves. We simply need to Love HIM and let him do the drawing.
Just build Him a House with no impediments or obstacles to His desire for intimacy and your life will be changed for ever

I love the confidence and the fearless sense of fun that ...

I love the confidence and the fearless sense of fun that both Marc and Lisa have. I also appreciated their willingness to be completely open and honest with each other despite the fact that they'd just met. The attraction between them was instantaneous but circumstances forced them to hold off on that, at least for a few hours. An impromptu game of Truth or Dare kept them both entertained, as well as most of the other guests at the wedding, until they were free to be alone together. Can what starts out as a one-night stand possibly lead to something more? Read and find out!
I did like the author's writing style, quick, honest and to the point, with an easy sense of humor that I truly enjoyed. Both hero and heroine were real and likable. There were a few mechanical issues that I found a little distracting but I still enjoyed the story!

Kindle's a good compromise

I skimmed through the 21st version and really liked the content i read so i searched for a paper copy but found this as a more cost effective option. IF you are in the USA this book is nearly imposible to get a print version (above $80.) All the sites that sell it at a reasonable price ($8-9) are based in India and don't ship here. $20 for kindle version wasn't too bad. The content is very comprehensive the first 60-80 pages are just anatomy and physiology which reads really slow but once you get into the disease sections it is very well written, concise, and helpful. I enjoy picking this up because it's written at the level a third year medical student level where you know 75-80% of the medical terminology. It does a good balance between allowing you to communicate disease processes to patients and to colleagues. I really enjoyed many of the reiterations of simple concepts throughout multiple chapters allowing the big picture to develop and leaving friendly reminders of what is important to know in ophthalmology.

The cons of this book: tables are a nightmare at converting (this could be an app dependant thing i use an iPad with the kindle app) they constantly only show half of the table and when i try to slide to the other half of the table it flips the page...that cost this great book a star.
It also isn't very picture heavy (scant on abnormal images of fundus or pathology)

US med students- too in-depth unless you want to look like a rockstar on an AI
Foreign Grads- from what i understand this is the standard textbook that you guys use.

About the Author
Sarah Mally is a single young woman with a heart for young ladies. She is the founder of Bright Lights, a discipleship ministry designed to equip young ladies to use the years of their youth fully for Christ. As of winter 2012, more than 500 Bright Lights groups have started worldwide. Bright Lights hosts Strong in the Lord and Radiant Purity conferences for mothers and daughters, trains and equips leaders of Bright Lights groups, and provides discipleship material for young ladies. In 2002, Sarah and her brother and sister (Stephen and Grace) co-authored the book, Making Brothers and Sisters Best Friends, and in 2006 Sarah published Before You Meet Prince Charming.  Sarah lives in Marion, Iowa

AMAZING

I recently purchased this book and have enjoyed everything about it. I often find myself talking and thinking of things that I shouldn't, but often not knowing how to capture and stop those bad habits. Sarah Mally gives reason, examples, and Scripture of keeping yourself mentally and physical pure for the "Perfect ONE" God has for you. This book has helped to change my understanding of why it is so importantto choose God before anything and fill my whole heart with Him only. If you are a young girl struggling with feelings and thoughts you should purchase this book. PLEASE READ THIS BOOK!!!

Unrealistic expectations

My wife bought this book for our daughter. It appears to be written for girls that are home-schooled as some of the advice is unrealistic in a public school setting (e.g. make very little contact with boys and only say a few words when you do). My daughter has had multiple group projects that have involved one or more boys and involved them coming over to our house to work on said projects. She liked the other book she bought, "It's Not That Complicated: How to Relate to Guys in a Healthy, Sane and Biblical Way", much better.

Very sweet book

I read this book aloud to my 13 year old daughter so we could discuss it as we went along. It's a very sweet presentation of an immensely important subject. The language of the medieval stories is a bit corny at points, but the message is excellent. It is very good for young girls coming of age to have something that sets such high standards because the world we live in does not. I want my daughter to embrace and hold onto the knowledge that she is first and foremost the daughter of the King and to treasure the gift she is and will be in the future whether she is called to marriage, the single life or a religious vocation.

The most important message of this book to a young woman before marriage is that she is not waiting to get married, that marriage is not the ultimate goal in life, but that she needs to be the best God made her to be now. This is not a "how-to-catch-your-man" manual, and bravo for that!
